Char is [not] okay. (They promise!)
Therapy is expensive. Especially for a 20-something freelancer recovering from burnout and trying to remember to do laundry, eat, and pay their fines so they don't accidentally end up with a warrant out for their arrest.
Broke[n] enters the discussion of disability access and support through the lens of late diagnosed neurodivergence, showing how the experiences of ableism overlap and correlate across the board whether a person's struggles are physical, mental or both, and how often it is the society that disables a person through lack of accommodations, more than the diagnosis.
An ode to former emo kids, Broke[n] is what you’d get if Tim Minchin and Amanda Palmer had a chaotic musical love child who fell in love with Gerard Way. Armstrong’s sophomore show explores fighting the system with art, music, and comedy, and finding therapy in the process of creation.
Armstrong combines forces with fellow creative, and emerging producer Millie Piskopos of MOUK. MEDIA, a digital and live media production company committed to furthering accessibility for all creatives in the arts.
